Phantom rock is situated at a distance of twenty five kilometers from Kalpetta, and just ten kilometers from Sulthan Bathery  and close to Ambalavayal.  From Mananthavady it can be reached by a drive of forty two kilometers.           Phantom Rock named so because of its skull head shape. The immediate surroundings offer excellent photo opportunities.  The scenic surroundings near the phantom rock make it a potential tourist trekking and camping location. The surroundings have lot of greeneries and rocks. In the local area it is popularly known as Cheengeri Mala.
