The way to Wayanad district begins with a chain tree in Lakkidi. We can see a long chain is wrapped into a big tree and lighted lamps in its bottom as a belief. There is a story behind this belief. . He told them the way, the Thamarassery Churam. They constructed the pass and said that it was their idea and plan. Moreover the real founder was hanged to death. Then it is said that his soul made the travel through the pass difficult. He threw away the vehicles into the valley and all. Then he was chained to a tree and the problem is then solved.
